Jeanelize completed her BA (Law) LLB with the University of Stellenbosch in 2000 and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2003 after completing her articles of clerkship with Bowman Gilfillan Inc.  She also holds a Higher Diploma in Income Tax from the University of Cape Town.

She is an admitted Solicitor in England and Wales and worked for HM Customs and Excise as a lawyer in their Asset Forfeiture Taskforce in 2003 and 2004.  Upon her return to South Africa in 2005 she joined Hofmeyr Herbstein Gihwala as an associate attorney in the firm’s commercial department.

Jeanelize is a founding shareholder and director of Themis Commercial Legal Advisors (Pty) Ltd and Hayes Inc and has been practising as such since 2006.  She specialises in legal matters of a commercial nature.
