Margot obtained both her BCom Law undergraduate degree (majoring in Economics) and her post-graduate LLB degree from Stellenbosch University. After completing her articles of clerkship at Boy Louw Incorporated in Paarl, she joined Solaris Law as an Associate in the Corporate, Commercial and Tax Department in 2023, where she was promoted to Senior Associate in September 2025.

After consulting independently for a while, with her primary client being a tech startup in Mauritius, she joined Themis Law Chambers in May 2026 as a Senior Associate in their Commercial Department.
